The one question covid urges us to ask ourselves

Not an easy one.

We are collectively in the “unknown” and that can feel very scary. The moment we thought we had built security for ourselves, the ground underneath us started shaking. Having made some courageous decisions in my life, I couldn’t help but reflect on them these days and ask myself this one question.

“Am I happy? If I had to live for the rest of my life, in this body, in this house, in this country, in this job, with these people around me, with this self, in this routine, would I be happy?”

Luckily, my answer was a wholehearted “YES!”. And I can say I was very happy about that. It’s been a journey, to say the least, to come to this place. Surely there are things I’d like to have more of, develop further, reach, build or gain. But if everything would stay as is, I am happy. Now, I want you to ask yourself this same question and be honest with yourself. Would you be happy if everything stayed like it is today? Are you happy with yourself and your life right now? If yes, well done! If no, what needs to change? Self-honesty is the first step towards change. It shapes clarity and opens up possibilities. Then the next step is a plan, courage, and determination to follow through.

May this time allow you to reflect. And when you do discover what things need to change for you, may this time help you find the courage to take action. You deserve to live a happy and fulfilled life. Remember, when you show up living wholeheartedly happy, you contribute to a better world for us all.
